Simon Clarke is a highly focused company with a great desire to maintain the professional, efficient and courteous way that our business operates. We opened our first office in Whetstone in 1991 and have established ourselves as the area's leading letting agent. Since then we have opened a further office in Finchley. We are continually looking to improve every aspect of our business from customer service, staff development and training, understanding and embracing the very latest technology and the delivery of high quality property information.

High standard of professionalism / Peace of mind

The partners of Simon Clarke are members of the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and the Ombudsman Scheme for Letting Agents. Being members of these professional and regulated bodies ensures that we comply with their rules of conduct. We also have Professional Indemnity Insurance and are covered by the NAEA Client's Money Protection Scheme.

Professional Indemnity Insurance covers you against loss caused by the negligence or human error of the agent and their employees. Also covered in the unlikely event that you were to suffer loss of money because of an Agent's misappropriation of funds, your loss will be covered (up to pre-set limits; these can be found on the NAEA website naea.co.uk). We also supply an annual report from our accountants confirming that clients' money is administered in accordance with the NAEA Rules of Conduct.

Choosing the right tenant

Each prospective tenant is vetted carefully through Maras, an independent referencing agency who were one of the first companies operating in the credit sector to recognize the increasing professionalism of letting agents. Maras has been providing services to Simon Clarke for over 7 years. Their core business is the vetting of prospective tenants for rental property; however they also provide other services and products such as rental guarantee and legal expenses insurance (this is only available via letting agents registered with Maras), buildings insurance for Landlords and contents insurance for Landlords and Tenants. Property Management Department

We have a dedicated Management Department based on the 1st floor of our Whetstone Office with 3 experienced full time staff dealing with the day to day management of our properties. We currently manage over 140 properties for landlords, many of whom reside overseas. Our fully computerized office can offer prompt payments of rent each month, prepare monthly statements, pay ongoing bills, account for necessary maintenance, carry out property inspections, chase any rent arrears and negotiate annual rent reviews.

Full property management is the preferred service level for the majority of our landlords, many of whom reside overseas or simply do not want any involvement in the letting and management process. It is also worth mentioning that fully managed properties tend to attract corporate tenants etc.

We have also recently invested in the much acclaimed Winman software, which is regarded as the 'industry standard' software for Lettings and Property Management. This is a full double-entry accounting software package compliant with RICS, NAEA and ARLA rules.




Website advertising

The World Wide Web is now very much a vital part of the property market. Over 70% of the UK has access to the internet, not to mention those from overseas.

Simon Clarke have recognized this and we have invested in our website to facilitate those people who would prefer to find their next home over the internet, with easy access 24/7. As well as a fresh modern design we pride ourselves on the fact that our website is updated daily.

Our website offers every property the opportunity to be advertised with a selection of colour internal and external photographs and full description. Also provided is a map locator for easy reference, proximity of the nearest Tube or British Rail Stations and details of the Council Tax band.

A new feature, which has also been added to our website, is the 'report a repair' facility. Tenants that are in properties managed by Simon Clarke can use the 'report a repair' facility directly from our website. This enables them to report any problems/maintenance issues that they are experiencing at the property; this will be sent directly to our dedicated management department by email and text.

Longer opening times

Our offices are open until 7pm weekdays (Fridays close at 6pm) and 3pm Saturdays. More often than not our highly motivated staff will work beyond these times in order to accommodate even later appointment times and move-ins.
